Livestock

For best results in livestock feeding, feed must be well mixed, palatable and well balanced in energy, protein, fiber, minerals and vitamins. Breeders should also monitor the animal’s feed consumption and growth, and food should be fresh and have all the nutrients the animal needs for growing.

Nutrients are molecules that belong to certain chemical groups which, due to their importance are called immediate principles that ensure the proper performance of all vital functions like breathing, the blood flow and nervous system, maintenance of body structures, reproduction and everyday activities. Animal cells obtain the substances they need to synthesize cellular constituents from the food they eat. This allows them to perform their regular bodily functions.

The point of having a feeding program is producing efficient livestock can achieve good genetic potential throughout their productive life. This is key to achieving optimal body structure that ensures the animal’s reproductive future.

Minerals and vitamins play a key role in reproduction. Furthermore, we must consider the effect of supplementing some of them in a larger amount (vitamin A, folic acid, etc.) in key periods of the reproductive cycle. Moreover, since these nutrients have both structural and regulatory key roles, feed manufacturers must ensure that the animal has no subclinical deficiencies of any of these elements.

We offer different types of feed, as the prevention of gaps where there are seasonal variations in the type of food animals eat requires us to use certain supplements. A decrease in productivity or a chronic disease tends to be far more expensive than good and balanced supplementation.

Finally, we must take into account the feed’s digestibility, conditioned by the absorption of different compounds, either organically or inorganically and the metabolic use and mobility of certain reserves in the animal’s body.
